Read the Damn Directions
My Modern England professor generously gave us a sheet that listed the three possible essay questions for the exam. “What luck!” I thought. Unfortunately, I didn’t read the directions at the top of the page.
I thought that we were to pick one of the essay questions, learn about it thoroughly, and then write about it on test day. Had I paid closer attention, I would’ve noticed that the directions said, “ONE OF THESE QUESTIONS WILL APPEAR ON THE TEST AS THE ESSAY QUESTION.”
Oh well.
