Hacker.

Some jackass hacked this blog and messed with my permalinks. Should be fixed now.

The Work Force

Having more than a 6 month gap in work history, even if you were a student during the gap, will cause many employers to overlook your application.

Random question: Would you rather have somebody with 5 years of experience that will be average immediately, or somebody with no experience but a college education and will be above average after a couple weeks? You might think the answer would seem obvious, but companies just don’t have the vision anymore to develop employees in such an elastic hiring environment.

Class Cost

Most online classes cost more than classroom classes…definitely idiotic.

The GRE

I’m studying for the GRE.

I’m doing much better on the Verbal than the Quantitative. I guess that’s pretty typical since I haven’t done any math in almost 5 years.

I’m shooting for a perfect score, but I’d be happy with a 750 Verbal and a 700 Quantitative.

Taking a Break

I’m going on indefinite hiatus. Writing about school/learning during the summer is a difficult task because I don’t want to write and nobody wants to read.

So, in a sense, this is a win-win.

’til next time!

Questions

Japanese Farm Schools

This is definitely a major in which I’d be interested. Damn, do I love Japanese people. This video features G-rated mud wrestling and CUTE child labor. What more could you want from education?

Rethinking My School Year

sadMy average GPA in any given fall semester is around a 3.6. Compare that to a 3.0 in the spring.

The winter/cold makes me sad. (Apparently this is actually a condition called Seasonal Affective Disorder – S.A.D.) I wish that my school year started the first day of spring and ended the first day of winter. If scholarships were more flexible, then I would never enroll in a spring (*COUGH* WINTER) semester – summer and fall only for me.

Holding It

Holding ItWouldn’t it be nice if achieving our dreams seemed as pressing as having to go to the bathroom?
