Drag Queens are People, Too

Hello, I am English learner.

I have question of pronoun ‘it’. I learn it can be used for a person who has gender unknown or disregarded.

So I can say-

A: hey look that drag queen

B:what, can you recognize it’s gender?

For future reference, English learners, it is always a better idea to assume an individual is the gender which HE or SHE is trying to appear. :)
