FranklinCovey. Experts at getting organized.
I have not written a single article in nearly a month. To some, this would be a death knell for a blog. For me, it is a clear example of prioritizing. Regardless of the expectations of others or even expectations you have of yourself, you must attend to that which is most important.

I spent two weeks as a tour guide in Europe for my 70 year old grandmother. My parents, who are divorced, are both in the process of moving and I am helping both of them. My father is ill and has custody of my four year old cousin. I have devoted a large portion of my time the past several weeks trying to enrich the kid’s life.

My current priorities place my family first and myself second. All of my own interests, preferences, and desires are on the back-burner.

Unfortunately, this includes this blog. To those who have been wondering what the deal was, now you know. I don’t consider my audience a beast which needs multiple feedings each day, but it has been over a month since I last updated. Generally, my most frequent readers are thoughtful intellectuals, so I know that my hiatus is understood.

As time permits I shall update, but don’t think for a second that anything, this blog or otherwise, will keep me from doing first things first.
